Ceramic coating quotes in the Algarve run from a few hundred euros to well past two thousand — and the difference is rarely the bottle. At JustCars the packages are published: €1,000 to €2,000 including machine correction guided by a paint-depth gauge, applied at the Almancil studio, with long-life coatings up to eight years on request.
Under one name, the region sells genuinely different services — and all of them can be honest. At one end, a coating layered over the paint's current condition in a morning: real hydrophobics, easier washes, sealed as-is. At the other, a multi-day studio project where the paint is measured, machine-corrected and only then coated. Neither is a trick; they simply answer different questions, and the price tells you which question is being answered.
The part that never appears on an invoice line is preparation. A ceramic coating is glass-hard and semi-permanent: whatever is under it — swirl marks, oxidation, holograms — is locked in for the life of the coating. That is why correction, not chemistry, is where most of the cost and most of the result live, and why comparing two quotes without asking what happens before the coating is comparing nothing at all.

Every project starts with a paint-depth gauge, not a marketing sheet. The measurement decides what the lacquer can safely take: how much correction, whether the paint first needs RestorFX chemical restoration at our Loulé centre, or — occasionally — whether coating now is the wrong move entirely. You hear that verdict before money changes hands.
Then the three published packages: €1,000 for the body, €1,500 for the package most owners choose, €2,000 for the full treatment including glass and wheels. The house system is ClearFX from the RestorFX family, applied under certification, protecting for up to two years — and long-life coatings up to eight years are available for €500–600 more. Systems like GTECHNIQ or Gyeon can be sourced on request; the preparation standard never changes with the label.
UV and salt are exactly what a ceramic coating handles best: chemical resistance keeps salt film and bird strikes from etching the lacquer, and washes become faster and gentler — which itself preserves the paint. A €150 care wash every three months keeps the coating performing; Care Club members do it at half price.
The honest exception is gravel. No coating stops a stone chip — that is physics, and it is PPF's job. On many Algarve cars the right answer is both: film on the impact zones, ceramic on the rest. Owners closer to a specific town can read their local page — Almancil, Loulé, Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, Vilamoura — and free collection within 15 km covers the drive either way.
