This page explains how JustCars uses cookies, local storage and similar first-party technologies on justcars.pt.
We use essential security logging for every request. Analytics cookies/local storage are used only after the visitor accepts analytics in the cookie banner. Booking and chat consents are separate from analytics cookies.
What We Store
- Essential security logs: request path, timestamp, user-agent, IP headers, referrer and bot/abuse signals. These are server-side logs and do not need browser cookies.
- Consent state: your analytics choice: accepted, rejected or unset.
- Visitor ID: a first-party anonymous ID used to connect page views, clicks and Sofia chat context after consent.
- Attribution: UTM source/medium/campaign, landing page and referrer when available.
- Page journey: recent pages viewed on justcars.pt, stored first-party, so the team can understand what service the visitor was considering.
Why We Use It
We use this information to understand which services visitors look at, improve the website, identify bots/competitor scraping, prepare better Sofia responses and follow up on booking or quote requests.
Marketing
Marketing messages by WhatsApp or email are not based on the analytics cookie banner. They require a separate marketing choice in the chat or booking form. If you do not opt in, analytics acceptance does not authorise promotional messaging.
Third Parties
The current JustCars analytics layer is first-party. Embedded services such as Google Calendar, Google Maps, Instagram, WhatsApp or payment providers may process data when you open or use them; their own policies apply.
Your Choice
You can accept or reject analytics in the banner. Rejecting analytics does not block essential security logging or the core website. You can also clear your browser storage to remove local visitor identifiers.
