Quinta do Lago sits close to the Atlantic, where coastal salt air accelerates chemical degradation of unprotected clear coat. UV radiation at this latitude is significantly more intense than in most of northern Europe. Over months and years, an unprotected car parked in the estate — even in a garage that lets in occasional salt air — shows the effects: dulling gloss, oxidation patches, and paint that feels rough to the touch.
A ceramic coating is a semi-permanent protective layer bonded to the clear coat surface. It creates a hydrophobic finish that causes water and contaminants to bead off, reduces UV-accelerated oxidation, and makes the surface easier to clean after each use. It is not impact protection — that is PPF — but as a chemical and UV barrier our package coatings work for two years with a simple 3-monthly care wash, and a different long-life ceramic extends that to 5–8 years on request, at extra cost.
We offer three ceramic packages, with honest prep as the foundation for all of them.
The €1,000 package is right for fresher cars: exterior polish and an entry-level ceramic application. The €1,500 package — the one most of our clients choose — adds interior cleaning, a better ceramic product, and an A/C recharge on request. The €2,000 package includes everything in the €1,500 tier plus ceramic coating for the glass and wheels.
The price you pay is fixed after we see the paint. If the surface needs correction before coating, we will say so — a coating applied over defects locks them in permanently.
Every ceramic application comes with a 3-monthly care plan. A maintenance visit (€150 — the 3-hour care wash; mention the car is ceramic-coated) removes embedded contaminants, refreshes the hydrophobics and keeps the warranty conditions met. Most Quinta do Lago owners schedule these around the peak season — before summer guests and after the winter off-season.
