Films come from Portugal's approved list, the Certificado de Aplicação is issued at installation, and we run the full legalisation — inspection, IMT, updated documents — so the car leaves legal, not hopeful.
Most tint problems aren't film problems — they're fitting problems: dust sealed under the film, edges that lift after one summer, bubbles that were promised to disappear and didn't. We wrap paint in PPF all week as a STEK-certified studio, and glass gets exactly the same regime: controlled dust, patient squeegee work, edges finished so they stay finished.
The Algarve sun is the argument for doing it at all. A quality solar film cuts a serious share of the heat entering the cabin and blocks the UV that fades leather and cracks dashboards — the A/C reaches temperature faster and works less. Darker rear glass adds privacy for resort parking; the front glass is a different question entirely, and the section below sets out exactly what the law leaves room for.

This is the conversation we have every week, so here it is plainly. In Portugal the windscreen and the two front side windows must let through at least 70% of the light. Most cars already leave the factory at roughly that level — which means the front of your car has essentially no headroom left to darken. Anyone who promises you dark front glass is promising you a failed inspection.
So we work with the glass we can actually work with. On the front side windows we fit a clear thermal film only: it cuts UV and heat and takes the sting out of the sun without changing how the glass reads. On the windscreen we recommend nothing at all — we will go through the reasons with you at the car. The rear glass is the different story: that is where real darkening is legal, and where we choose from the films on the approved list, because those are the only ones that can be legalised. Window tint in Portugal is a legal question as much as a comfort one: only films on the country's approved list can be legalised, and the car must pass an extraordinary inspection and have its documents updated. The fitting happens at our Almancil studio — Estrada de Vale do Lobo 955A, on the EN125: minutes from the Almancil crossroads, ten from the golden-triangle villas. Free collection within 15 km covers Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, Vilamoura and Quarteira, and the car is insured while it's with us.
Because the same hands fit PPF, colour films and wraps, tint rarely travels alone: many cars combine it with PPF zones or a ceramic package and are collected finished once — instead of booking two workshops and losing two weeks.

No — and this is the single most common misunderstanding, so we say it clearly. €350 buys the REAR zone: rear doors, rear quarter glass, tailgate. The whole car is €650. Confusingly, €350 is also what our separate legalisation service costs — two different services, two different payments, never one blended figure.

We don't recommend it, and it isn't something we legalise. There are real technical reasons behind that answer, and we'd rather go through them with you at the car than argue them in a web page.
