Collection and delivery: how the distance rule works

How our collection and delivery service works around the golden triangle, why we use a distance radius, and what it means for booking longer jobs.

If your car is going to spend a few days with us for paint correction, a ceramic package or protection film, the first practical question is rarely about the work itself. It is about logistics. Who drops the car off, who collects it, and how a villa owner in Quinta do Lago or a resident in Vale do Lobo fits that around a busy week. Collection and delivery exists to remove that friction, and it works on a simple distance rule that is worth understanding before you book.

The principle is straightforward. Within a defined radius of our studios in Almancil and Loulé, we collect your car and return it as part of the service, so you never have to build your day around a drop-off. The golden triangle sits comfortably inside that zone: Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago, Vilamoura and Almancil itself are all short, familiar runs for us. Beyond that radius, collection is still possible on many jobs, but it becomes a scheduled arrangement we agree in advance rather than something we can promise on demand. Distance costs time, and a driver spending two hours on the road is two hours not spent finishing your car properly.

There is an honest trade-off here that we would rather explain than hide. Collection and delivery tends to make the most sense on larger, multi-day bookings, where the value of the work justifies the driving and where the car is with us long enough for the logistics to be worth arranging. For a quick maintenance wash, it is often simpler and faster for everyone if the car comes to us directly. We would rather tell you that than quietly attach a movement cost to a small job. When we inspect the car in person before quoting, this is one of the things we settle openly, so the arrangement is clear before any keys change hands.

The distance rule also protects the quality of the handover, which matters more than it sounds. Every time a car moves, someone is responsible for it, and we treat that responsibility seriously. On collection we note the existing condition of the paint, wheels and interior with you or on record, so there is no ambiguity later about a mark that was already there. A tighter, well-understood radius means our own drivers are doing that handover, on roads they know, rather than a job being rushed across the region by someone unfamiliar with the car.

Algarve conditions are part of why the service is genuinely useful rather than a convenience gimmick. A car that has been sitting at a second home through a Calima dust event arrives coated in fine Saharan grit that is abrasive if wiped dry, and coastal salt air works quietly on trim and brightwork all year. Having us collect the car means that first, careful decontamination happens with the right method from the start, instead of the car picking up wash marks from a hurried rinse before it even reaches us. For owners who are only in the region part of the year, it also means the car can be handed over and returned around a flight rather than a free afternoon.

Practically, the sequence is simple. When you enquire, tell us where the car is and what you are booking, and we confirm whether it falls inside the standard collection zone or needs a scheduled slot. We agree a collection window, come to you, carry out the inspection and the agreed work, and return the car when it is genuinely ready rather than to hit an artificial deadline. If a job turns out to need longer once we see the paint in person, we tell you before we proceed, not after.

None of this changes the two things that stay constant. We look at the car before we give you a fixed price, and we choose the treatment the car actually needs rather than the one that suits a schedule. Collection and delivery is there to make good work easier to say yes to, especially on the longer protection and correction jobs where a few days without the car is the only real inconvenience. Ask us where you sit relative to the radius, and we will give you a straight answer along with the quote.
