Um revestimento cerâmico dá à pintura brilho profundo e uma superfície hidrofóbica que torna tudo isso mais fácil de lavar. No estúdio JustCars em Almancil, a cerca de 25–30 minutos, os packs custam €1.000, €1.500 e €2.000; os revestimentos duram dois anos com uma lavagem de manutenção a cada três meses, e há revestimentos de longa duração até oito anos por cerca de €500–600 a mais.
O pack de €1.000 é a base: polimento à máquina e revestimento cerâmico da carroçaria. O de €1.500 acrescenta trabalho de interior e um revestimento mais forte. O de €2.000 estende a proteção aos vidros e às jantes. Não tem de escolher um nível num site — primeiro olhamos para a pintura e recomendamos o nível que serve o carro.

Um revestimento sela a superfície onde é aplicado — espirais incluídas. Por isso, cada projeto cerâmico começa com a pintura medida com um medidor de espessura, depois corrigida, e só então revestida. É a leitura do medidor que decide quanto polimento a pintura aguenta em segurança.
O cerâmico não protege contra pedradas — esse é o trabalho da película de proteção de pintura. O que faz bem é brilho, resistência UV e uma superfície que repele água, sal e pó, para o carro ficar limpo mais depressa e com menos contacto.
Na primeira semana depois do revestimento o melhor é não lavar o carro; se for mesmo preciso, com cuidado e sem escovas. Escovas num carro com cerâmico ficam proibidas para sempre.
Os dois anos de vida do revestimento pressupõem uma lavagem de manutenção a cada três meses: a detalhada de 3 horas, €150, ou €75 com o Care Club. Entre visitas valem as regras da costa — lavar mais vezes com produtos próprios, manter plásticos e borrachas hidratados, guardar o carro na garagem quando puder e tirar a calima com água cedo, nunca a esfregar.
