Gravilha da autoestrada, brita nas bermas das estradas nacionais, o camião da frente na A22 — as pedradas juntam-se primeiro no para-choques, no capô, nos guarda-lamas e nos espelhos. A película é uma camada espessa e autorregenerativa que absorve fisicamente esses impactos. Um revestimento cerâmico não faz isso: dá brilho e facilita a lavagem, mas não protege contra pedradas.
A cobertura frontal parcial protege os painéis que levam os impactos; a película na carroçaria completa protege tudo. €1.500 é o ponto de entrada de uma frente parcial — o valor final depende do carro, do tamanho dos painéis e do que mais precisar, e confirmamo-lo depois da inspeção, antes de qualquer trabalho começar.

A película STEK tem 10 anos de garantia do fabricante no material, e nós acrescentamos 1 ano na nossa instalação. A rotina que a sustenta é uma lavagem de manutenção a cada três meses — a detalhada de 3 horas a €150, ou €75 para membros do Care Club.
A película pode ser lavada logo; nas primeiras semanas basta manter os jatos de alta pressão longe das arestas. Há película mate disponível, e as películas de cor escolhem-se a partir de amostras no estúdio.
Um painel acabado de pintar precisa de pelo menos três semanas antes de levar película — caso contrário a película prende os solventes e descola. A pintura de fábrica não tem essa espera. E pense no fim de vida da película: a película premium sai de forma limpa com calor, normalmente em um a dois dias, e deixa a pintura intacta; uma película barata pode sair mal e levar a pintura até ao primário.
Vale a pena proteger também os faróis: o PPF de faróis custa €125 por farol ou €250 o par.
