Um restauro a sério remove a camada degradada por etapas medidas e refina a lente até à transparência ótica genuína, sob luz de inspeção — a mesma disciplina do nosso polimento de pintura. Somos honestos sobre os limites antes de começar: danos no interior da lente, condensação de um vedante morto ou fissuras profundas não saem a polir, e dizemo-lo em vez de vender um brilho que dura um mês.
O polimento remove o que restava do revestimento UV de fábrica, por isso uma lente restaurada sem proteção começa a amarelar de novo logo no primeiro verão.
